The SCENAR works by making the body’s own immune system operate more efficiently.
Technically it is a very complicated device, which sends electronic impulses via the skin to the brain but it was designed to be used by anybody without any special medical training. You just hold it or brush it over the affected area or organ and it sends an amplified signal of pain to the brain. This causes the brain to trigger the body’s immune response and after only a few minutes of treatment, the patient starts feeling much better.
The main principle of Scenar therapy is to stimulate the body to use its own internal pharmacy to cure a state of ‘disease’.
When the Scenar passes over a ‘painful’ area, it sends a signal to the brain telling it that there is an imbalance or ‘small asymmetry’.
The brain constantly monitors the condition of the body so it will already know about an imbalance. As a normal process it will have sent a specific amount of bio-active compounds to the point of pain. Eventually, for healthy people this measured dose, which will slowly continue, will cure the pain and return the body to its natural healthy state. But this can take a long time.
The Scenar was developed to "jump-start" the body’s own natural healing response, telling the brain that more of the body’s natural medicinal compounds are required to neutralise the pain and heal the injury. Using electro-stimulation on the skin and a very sophisticated electronic feedback, the SCENAR continuously monitors the site of pain and sends messages back to the brain so that it is able to adjust the treatment accordingly.
In response to Scenar impulses the nervous system releases neuropeptides, which are some of the most powerful pain relief chemicals that the body produces. As this occurs, an information loop between the brain/ central nervous system and the Scenar is set up. As the Scenar is rubbed over the area of pain it sends more and more signals back to the brain in response to the rush of neuropeptides arriving at the site of pain.
At the start of the treatment the Scenar appears to drag over the point of pain feeling ‘sticky’. As healing begins the site may redden or change colour in relation to the surrounding skin and the Scenar may give out a ‘buzzing’ sound as it passes over the small asymmetry. Once the area undergoes change, by either the stickiness reducing or the buzzing getting fainter, the treatment is complete.
In minutes the body has delivered sufficient natural chemicals to give significant pain relief and to continue the healing process for several days.
